Item Description
George Kalinsky has been the official photographer for Madison Square Garden since 1966 and also serves as the official photographer at Radio City Music Hall. His photos have been in many major publications, such as "Sports Illustrated, People, Newsweek," and "The New York Times." In May, 2009, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum opened an exhibit dedicated to photographs Kalinsky took at some of Madison Square Garden's most legendary concerts. Offered here is a 18.75x28" frame that contains one of Kalinsky's photos, of a John Lennon concert that took place at Madison Square Garden in Aug., 1972. Lennon and Yoko Ono gave two benefit concerts w/Elephant's Memory and guests in aid of patients at the Willowbrook State School mental facility. Staged at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 30, 1972, they were his last full-length concert appearances. Photo print has been professionally and attractively double-matted to 11.75x17.75" and has been hand-signed by Kalinsky in silver paint pen at lower right. Additionally, framed display has etched metal plate that reads "John Lennon - Madison Square Garden - August 1972 - From The Lens Of George Kalinsky." NM. Comes w/worn original MSG Entertainment shipping box and card/envelope. From the collection of John Scher, legendary concert promoter, producer and manager and comes with COA signed by him.
