12x12-1/8" artboard has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for Lindberg model kit No. 279, issued 1965 (though stamped date on reverse is Nov. 25, 1963). Art is signed by Ray Gaedke, who provided box art for numerous model kit boxes. Art depicts bug-eyed devil in a coffin cart, that has two skulls w/candles on top instead of headlights. Pair of bats fly at front and Satan points the way w/pitchfork. Patched tires have "Dunloop" and "Hotstone" names, obvious plays on popular tire brands. Tape staining and staple holes along margins does not affect art, which is covered by taped down acetate overlay. Art displays Exc. and would look stunning framed. In our opinion, this is the best art of the four in this series.
