9.25x13" artboard has original color specialty art by Captain Marvel comic book artist C.C. Beck of Mister Mind, Fawcett Comics/DC Comics supervillain created by Otto Binder and Beck. Mister Mind first appeared as a voice only in "Captain Marvel Adventures" #22, his first true appearance was in "Captain Marvel Adventures" #26 (Aug., 1943). One of Captain Marvel's primary villains, Mister Mind is a tiny alien worm of high intelligence. Marker and colored pencil art area measures 7.5x10.25" and shows full body image of Mister Mind, a word balloon reading "Hee Heee Haww!" coming from his mechanical voice box around his neck. Hand-lettered text at bottom reads "Mr. Mind - My All-Time Favorite Villain!" and has been signed by Beck, who adds "1973" date. Margins have some aging as art was at one point matted. Artboard has some corner tip wear, most noticeable at upper left. Art/inscription would display Exc. if matted and framed. Rarely is Mister Mind seen as a single character piece of specialty art as opposed to Beck's more common Captain Marvel or other Fawcett characters. From the Don Maris Collection.
