Item Description
Pair of "Playbill" publications for two theater productions of "The King And I" starring Brynner. Brynner is best known for his portrayal of the King of Siam in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "The King And I," for which he won two Tony Awards and an Academy Award for the 1956 film version; he played the role 4,625 times on stage. First is 6-5/8x9" and is for June 1953 St. James Theatre performance. Front cover (again featuring Brynner image) has been boldly signed in black felt tip pen. Aging and scattered dust soiling to cover w/pinch creases to spine. Fine. Second program measures 5.75x9" for 1977 Uris Theatre (now known as the Gershwin Theatre) production. Front cover w/Brynner's image has been boldly signed in red felt tip pen. Lightly aged. VF/Exc. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COAs.
