Item Description
29.75x31" tall die-cut cardboard Riser Display features large illustration of Howdy Doody saying "Hey Kids!! Get These 2 Big Offers By The Makers Of Colgate Dental Cream." Lower left has image of "Howdy Doody Photo Printer" camera w/image of Princess Summerfall Winterspring in frame and second offer is for "6 Piece Disguise Kit" w/art of children wearing disguises. Both offers include text "Yours For Only 25¢ And A Colgate Dental Cream Carton." Lower right has arrows pointing to partial 3x5.5" coupon pad which repeats offer w/space on reverse for recipient to fill out and mail in. Back of display notes "Dual Display" use and shows this riser display on top of cardboard chimney design and same chimney w/different Riser Display w/Santa Claus. Beside each image are dates as to when promotions were to be displayed. The display offered here was to be displayed Oct. 1 to Nov. 27, 1954. Display shows wear w/creases and scattered staining along edges. Display has about 15 scattered 1" spots of moisture staining, tiny holes along margins and some small scattered areas of surface scuffing. Coupon pad has remnants from removed coupons at staples and top remaining coupon shows wear. Rest are VF. Display is VG/Fine overall. For all intents and purposes, this is the part of the display unit for Howdy Doody collectors and can be hung as is or framed for display. Rare.
