Item Description
13.5x18". There were two rival Republicans conventions in 1864. The first was May 31, 1864 in Cleveland. These anti-Lincoln Republican adopted the name Radical Democracy Party as seen on this print. The pro-Lincoln faction held their 1864 National Union convention in June in Baltimore. In September, 1864, after a political deal with Lincoln, Fremont abandoned his Presidential campaign. Print has untrimmed wide margins, which is quite uncommon. Top margin a bit darker tone to a depth of only 1". Light 4" crease bottom left corner. Top right 2.75" corner crease. Left margin .5" tear and other very minor extreme edge wear. Overall Fine with entire image Essentially Mint. Hake 1864-3002 with 2004 guide value of $775.00. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
