Item Description
3.25" deep wood box with hinged lid 4.75x4.75". Lid is capped by chocolate brown molded thermoplastic plate recessed slightly towards the central oval around the slightly raised and nicely detailed bust portrait and name within the oval. Front edge of wood lid secured by small brass hasp. Scattered small traces of wear appears along lid top edge. Not affecting center oval portrait and name area. Interior lid has 3.75" diameter paper label from Logansport, Ind. Clothing House 90% complete. Underside stamped into wood at center "Scovill M'F'G Co. N.Y. Pat. 8-28-1877." Sides and bottom show light surface wear. Holds what seems to be original or period collar that looks and feels like celluloid, but with text on inner surface "Boniface Rubber."
