Item Description
Smith has 5.25x5.75" base and stands 7" tall. Facsimile signature on reverse. Underside has shield logo of "Patriotic Products Association Philadelphia Copyright/Gold Metal China/Made In U.S.A." Typical all over craze lines in the glaze. A couple tiny black dots as made and one small 1/8" pale green mark on the reverse, all as made. No chips or cracks. VF. Hoover is deeper cream tone and 6-5/8" tall (not 7"). Facsimile signature on right side. Underside rim edge has tan age with six hairlines radiating from logo area, but no chips. The only visible defect when displayed are three short lines on his hand and shoe at the right where the glaze did not fully cover. Very high gloss which is not crazed. A nice pair of portrait figural ceramics representing the 1928 contenders. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
