8-5/8x11.75", Vol. 10 #24 Dec. 19, 1914 Christmas issue has 148 pages including great cover art of looming skull-faced ghost promoting 1914 American silent film "The Ghost Breaker" which was directed by Cecil B. DeMille and Oscar C. Apfel and based on the Broadway play of the same name. Distributed by Paramount Pictures under the Famous Players-Lasky banner. "The Ghost Breaker" is widely considered to be the first film focused on a haunted house. The film was remade in 1922 (also named "The Ghost Breaker)") w/Wallace Reid and Lila Lee, as "The Ghost Breakers" in 1940 w/Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard, and as "Scared Stiff" in 1953 w/Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. The original 1914 film is now considered lost. Interior also features column w/photo from film. Additional content includes full page ad for Lionel Barrymore film "The Span Of Life" w/great image of woman and child walking over canyon on bridge made of men. Another full page ad is for "The Last Egyptian," a five-part production that starred members of the "Wizard Of Oz" stage production as noted in text and by "The Oz Films Mfg. Co." name and Ozma logo at bottom. Back cover has 1" tear at top center w/some surface paper flakes at top edge. Cover shows scattered wear and is VG. Interior pages have some aging but are VF overall. Limited distribution.
