Auction #213 - Part II
Item numbers 1063 through 2753 in auction 213
Item Description
Archival mat has 5.75x18” opening w/three India ink panels for June 29. The Wizard is picking up a magic book from librarian, asks if it’s been read, and is told no. A loud “Croak” comes from behind the counter, and librarian tells Wizard it’s his mother-in-law as frog sits nearby. Art is signed “B. Parker” in ink in panel three and signed by creators Brant Parker and Johnny Hart in panel two “To Jim ‘Uclan’ Forever! Johnny and Brant”. “Uclan” refers to British magic show. Art board is lightly but evenly tanned, some artist white-out here and there, signed area a bit faded. Overall VG/Fine. Nice earlier example of strip which began in 1964.
