Item Description
29.5x59.5" tall double-sided tin litho display attached to heavy cast metal base. c. 1950s. Nicely designed w/smiling policeman/crossing guard w/hand in air and holding shield w/"Slow - School Zone" text on one side and "Drink Coca-Cola" text in fishtail logo above "Thank You - Resume Speed" text above image of "Coca-Cola" bottle. Shield on front and white rim of Coca-Cola logo/text on reverse is reflective material. Bottom of sign has cast metal screw for attachment to 22" dia. painted heavy cast iron base w/"Drink Coca-Cola" relief text. Base shows obvious oxidation and wear. Good. Front of sign shows wear w/scattered dents and oxidation w/four 1" dents/oxidation to face, but these blend somewhat. Knees have 1" area of rust around hole as made. Back has some scattered aging and both sides have some scattered wear in the form of nicks/scratches. Back shows moderate wear at bottom w/paint loss and some scattered material that looks like aged tar. VG overall, but still remains nice for display purposes. Iconic 1950s Coca-Cola item.
