Item Description
Frame contains 11.5x17.5" textured orange paper newspaper premium picture issued in 1931. Picture has nice full body image of Buck Rogers holding space pistol in hand, his helmet hanging from his arm w/"With My Very Best Regards - Buck Rogers" facsimile inscription. Additional text reads "Telephoto By Lt. Dick Calkins - Air Corp. Res. - U.S. Army" w/small John Dille Co. copyright under Buck's feet. Previously issued as a newspaper premium in 1929, but in a smaller size and on green paper, not orange as offered here. Both versions are very rare. Picture has noticeable dust soiling and all over handling wear w/several horizontal creases and some scattered surface paper wear along top margin. Pinholes at corners. Despite these issues, image remains bold and distinct. VG overall, but as matted and framed, picture displays Fine. Very rare and the only example we've offered in our 47 years.
