Item Description
10" tall felt-like stuffed doll by Needleart Toys and distributed by George Borgfeldt & Co. under their "Nifty" toys line name. Early 1930s. Mickey Mouse has pair of mother-of-pearl buttons on front/back of pants and has nice pie-eye accents and red hand-threaded mouth. Original felt ears and complete w/original string whiskers and thin fabric tail. Doll has original Nifty Needleart cardboard tag still attached around upper arm, listing "Mickey Mouse" name. Tag shows just the slightest trace of wear and is Exc. Doll has trace of dust soiling but is o/w Exc. The smaller of two sizes produced by Needleart. Rare and only the second in this size we've offered in our 47 years (our last example selling for $3,478), yet alone in this stunning high grade and complete w/original tag. Easily among the highest quality Mickey Mouse dolls made in the 1930s. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
