Item Description
Wood frame w/Plexiglas over archival mat has 12x18.25” India ink and gouache image area w/determined Santa flying open air plane w/spotlight on top in moonlight among stars. Various bottles and jugs have some gift tags. Art is signed in ink at lower left and titled “The Smuggler” on bottom margin w/Dec. 18, 1919 date. Hughes has added his name and Long Island address in bottom right corner. Margins have usual dust soiling. Image area Exc. Delightful and well-drawn.
