Beautiful 1930s set features repeated art of Popeye holding Swee'Pea in front of Christmas tree decorated w/these shades. Art appears on die-cut box lid w/double Popeye portraits on front/back side panels. Box is complete w/original die-cut cardboard insert that holds the included eight 1-5/8" tall "Textolite" plastic shades. Set features ten different decals featuring Popeye, Wimpy, Castor Oyl and Olive Oyl (but mainly Popeye fighting thugs). A few minor decal hairlines but most are only noticeable upon close inspection and do not greatly detract from overall appearance which remains VF. Box lid has 1" tear by die-cut display portion (which is punched). Scattered aging/dust soiling and wear. VG/Fine.
