Item Description
Each is 1-1/8" brass with Douglas listed in DeWitt as 1860-11 and Bell as 1860-8. Each is dated on the obverse with the first reading "Stephen A. Douglas Democratic Candidate" and the other "John Bell Union Candidate For The Presidency." The Douglas features eagle reverse with text "Liberty Union And Equality" while the Bell reads "The Constitution And The Union/Now And Forever." Douglas is NM with nearly all luster while Bell has most luster on the front but a little scattered tarnish amongst the luster on the reverse. No wear on the details. Julie Powell Collection.
