Item Description
Typically these embossed frames are 7/8x1" but this example is 1x1.25" and displays much larger than the more typical size. Mounted to the tin back is a long vertical 1.25" pin. The tin type is exceptionally clear and has a beautiful glossy finish. Barely seen without magnification is a tiny 1/16" "Y" emulsion crack on his hair with a pair of equally tiny and near invisible 1/16" hairlines in the emulsion along the extreme right edge. To the naked eye the piece displays Essentially Mint and brass frame has NM luster. An unlisted and gorgeous Grant tin type stickpin from the Julie Powell Collection.
