Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard hinged-lid box contains 1.25x1.5" silver luster metal watch by Ingersoll. 1930s. Box lid features Official Boy Scout seal and is evenly aged. Underside of lid also has Official Boy Scout seal. Lid hinge is a bit fragile, but still attached. Box is tight w/original insert. VF. Die-cut insert holds watch w/original black leather bands. This is dial variation that features die-cut brass Scout symbol w/tiny "Be Prepared" text that revolves as seconds progress. Finely detailed dial w/image of post in center and hands are sign posts, reading "A Scout Is" and "Be Prepared." As minute hand revolves, it points to 12 attribute words printed on dial's outer edge, forming slogan, for example, "A Scout Is Trustworthy." Crystal has shrank and comes loose. Watch is overwound, but case and dial display Exc. Rare w/box, our last example in lesser condition sold for $842. See following items #909-911.
