Item Description
DeWitt 1888-26. This item with eagle hanger is 2-1/8" tall with suspended embossed brass shell 1.25" diameter by .25" thick. Brass front has jugate portraits with name and date while reverse of the piece is brass with a small horseshoe shaped hinged handle. Handle is used to pull off the reverse of the piece revealing an ink pad within the front section and a jugate rubber stamp on the inside of the rear section with the stamp reading "Our Choice/Cleveland/Thurman." We did not want to greatly ink either the pad or the stamp but did so just enough to produce the image shown in our photograph. There is a matching piece for Harrison listed as DeWitt 1888-45. Small bit of luster off the reverse of the case but the front displays 100% Mint. A rare campaign novelty.
