Item Description
"Li'l Abner" opened as a Broadway musical production Nov. 15, 1956 and ran for a moderately successful 693 performances. Paramount released a film version with the same title in 1959, with most of the Broadway cast reprising their roles. Offered here is a 14x22" thin cardboard window card for Phoenix Musical Theatre performance of the musical and a 3" dia. celluloid button for a St. James Theatre (NY.) performance, both featuring same graphics of Al Capp's "Li'l Abner" characters racing down path. Some of these include - Li'l Abner, Daisy Mae, Mammy and Pappy Yokum, Moonbeam McSwine, Salomey the pig and others. Button text reads "Ah Likes Elvis But Ah Loves The Hit Musical Li'l Abner" and button has Empress Specialty Co. maker's name on curl. Slight loss of silver flashing on reverse but button front remains bright, glossy and Exc. Window card has moderate margin aging w/lighter, even aging to interior. Corner tip foxing. Fine/VF.
