Item Description
Lot of three paper items featuring Al Capp's Shmoo and Kigmy characters. Each dates to the late 1940s, early 1950s. Included are 3x6.5" die-cut cardboard sheet that contained Burkhardt-Warner Industries "Al Capp's Shmoo Pen." Card is aged and majority of text on back is missing due to surface paper lift from scrapbook mounting. Fine overall. Next item is 4.5x7.25" glassine bag w/images of Shmoo and Li'l Abner w/"Li'l Abner And The Shmoo Present the 'Kigmy' By Al Capp - Toss-Up Balloon - Always Lands On Its Feet." Bag originally held rubber balloon novelty. Bag has moderate even aging and scattered handling wear due to thinness of bag material. Fine/VF. Last item is 7-7/8x11" single-sided illustrated retailer's sales sheet for large "Roly-Poly Shmoo" weighted toy that is depicted as large as a small child, standing 36" tall.
