Item Description
This Hake unlisted 4" button has a metal back and bar pin. Around the circumference are 12 small cello splits from mere dots to no large than 3/16" and all widely spaced around the reverse. The front displays totally clean with the exception of a tiny faint tan dot lower left of the apple. Full text reads "The Elephant's 'Trade Mark'/The Red Apple/Don't Be Fooled By The Cry Of 'Graft'/A Vote For Ike Is A Vote For 'Taft'/Vote Straight Democratic." Bottom edge has union bug from "Reading", Pa. We've seen only one previous auction record for this button with a realized price for $1,131.00. Julie Powell Collection.
