Item Description
Legendary comedy team Bud Abbott and Lou Costello made 36 films together between 1940 and 1956 and were among the most popular and highest-paid entertainers in the world during World War II. They launched their own weekly radio show, "The Abbott And Costello Show" on Oct. 8, 1942, sponsored by Camel cigarettes. In 1947 they moved the show to ABC (the former NBC Blue Network) before moving to TV in 1951. Offered here is a lot of six typed radio scripts (each typically 30 pages long, paperclipped at top; a few w/scattered paperclips throughout) from their time on the ABC Network. These scripts date to 1948-1949 and two of them are marked "Vanda" at top in pencil, noting them as personal copies of the show's producer, Charles Vanda. Two other scripts are marked "Timed Copy." Scripts are for "Show Number" 1, 25-26, 33-34 and 50. All are full scripts. Many pencil notations throughout pages. Fine overall. Historic lot for this beloved comedic duo.
