Item Description
Each of these were used for the photo in Collectible Pin-Back Buttons 1896-1986. First is 7/8" showing an Algonquin Mohawk who was baptized as Catherine Tekakwitha who is a Roman Catholic saint. Button is c. 1930s or earlier. Next at 1.25" and with W&H back paper is button reading "Chief Seattle/Memorial." c. 1930s. Next dated for 1934 Centennial is 1.25" with illustration of "Chief Baw Besse." He was a Potawatomi chief in the Hillsdale area in Michigan. Next is 7/8" c.1896 and with American Pepsin Gum paper. Pictured is "Spotted Tail/Blackfeet Sioux." Version with blue type, not red. Next with rim stain is 7/8" with back paper by Pacific Regalia. Pictured is "Sacajawea." She was a Lemhi Shoshone woman who accompanied Lewis & Clark on their expedition serving as their guide and interpreter. Button is from early 1900s. Last is .75" picturing "Tecumceh." Has back paper from Toronto firm. He was a leader of the Shawnee and opposed the United States during the War of 1812. All are Exc. to Mint and display Mint with the one exception. Comes with Hake's COA.
