Item Description
This most unusual piece is 2-6/16" long and 1.5" deep at its deepest point. It is comprised of a lower half in a deep bluish-green metallic paint. This half has numerous ripples in the metal but seemingly as made. The upper half with his image surrounded by a large wreath and with the inscription and facsimile signature at the top is with a much smoother surface although a little rippling around the outer edges. Each side edge has tiny text "Press Here" as the egg comes apart into two halves. The top half along lower right side edge is missing 3/16" dot of paint and there is a slightly darker mark opposite his eye but not very significant. Vast majority of color and paint remain. Only example we've seen. Also see Dewey and Dime Magazine fictional character Fred Fearnot #1229. Rare.
