Item Description
From same cartoon as previous item #1860. 9.75x12" nitrate sheet w/original hand-painted black and white (and gray) art measuring 3x4-3/8" depicting full body image of Mickey Mouse in cowboy gear on one knee, a gun in each hand. Art was produced for the Mickey Mouse animated short "Two-Gun Mickey" that was released Dec. 15, 1934. Inked "6" at lower right corner. As to be expected for a nitrate cel of this age, there is some very minor ink and paint lifting, and rippling to sheet. Art image is o/w 99% complete and still presents well. There were 74 black and white Mickey Mouse cartoons produced from 1928 to 1935 and from those, only about 50 animation cels in total remain. For "Two-Gun Mickey," we know of only a few remaining cels from this cartoon. This item was obtained by our consignor as a child in the 1950s and are fresh to the collecting community. Exceedingly rare and historic Disney animation art.
