The first ever Howdy Doody button and show premium was offered March 23, 1948 as part of the Howdy Doody For President campaign. This is very likely the second earliest issued button sometime between 1948 and 1951 when items carried the "Bob Smith" copyright and before the change to the copyright designation "Kagran." We've seen about three in five decades.
