Front includes a serial number and back paper reads "Watch The Number On Comic Pages For Valuable Cash Prizes Daily In The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette." Curl has name of maker Bastian Bros. Button front has pinpoint raised bump on top edge as made but the piece is essentially Mint as made. Second item also 1.25", while inscribed "Buck Rogers" actually pictures an aviator character from the comic strip. This button was issued by "Buffalo Evening News" and has a back paper with much the same text about a contest as the previous button. Trivial surface wear only in reflected light and button is Exc. displaying Mint. The button showing Buck Rogers is particularly scarce. These are the only two newspaper contest buttons we know of to picture characters from the strip.
