Item Description
First is his earliest ring from 1946 known as the Radar Signal Ring. This has a luminous plastic stone on the top which glows brightly in the dark. It slides off and hollow underside serves as a secret compartment. His name appears on each side of the ring base and this is a gorgeous NM example. Second from 1949 is the "Sky King's Tele-Blinker" ring. Top has pull out viewing tube and at 3.5" long this ring top is the largest vintage premium ring made. The black box on top of the ring base moves up and down to produce a clicking sound. When pushed down a rectangular window is shown on each side. These were meant to be used for signaling. The one internal glow in dark rectangle picturing a crown no longer glows but on the opposite side the two similar panels will produce the slightest trace of a glow and this trace is more than probably 95% of the remaining examples will do. Next is the 1949 Electronic Television Ring. One of the very few examples which we've seen that still glows brightly in the dark with the interior portrait of Sky King strongly visible. With it come four small cardboard photos that were developed by the person receiving the premium. Images are light but clean and they picture Sky King associates Jim, Martha, Penny and Clipper. The photos are scarce but the glowing ring which is in NM condition overall is a true rarity. See related and rare Cisco Kid ring #1176. Last is the 1949 Magni-Glo Writing Ring. As always ink has dried out but the plastic disk holding the pen point still glows brightly. This ring is also NM. See following related lot.
