Item Description
Original Aqua-oil painting on textured paper that has been mounted on 8x10" board. Painted by Mark Arminski, painting shows Alice the Goon, an Amazonian giantess who first appeared in the Sunday, Dec. 10, 1933 "Thimble Theatre" strip, part of the "Plunder Island" storyline. Working for the Sea Hag, over the decades, her demeanor has shifted somewhat and she became a nursemaid to Swee'Pea. Painting depicts Alice wearing a low-cut dress (showing ample cleavage), holding a joint in her hand and exhaling puff of smoke. In addition the flower in her hat, she sports a different type of green, a sprig of marijuana. Painting's bkg. features spiral design. Arminski has signed his name at lower right. NM.
