Item Description
8.5x10-3/8" four-page program for "Sounds '68'" a concert touted as "The First In This Series Of Pop Concerts In Aid Of Boys Clubs" that took place July 7, 1968 at The Royal Albert Hall. The concert featured The Byrds, The Alan Bown, Grapefruit, Bobby Goldsboro, The Easybeats, The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, The Move, Joe Cocker and others and was presented by The Keystone, program designed/printed by E.B.M. Studios. Front cover has stamped number that was used in raffle for autographed albums. Front has been signed in grease pencil by legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix, who adds "Be You" inscription. While Hendrix did not perform at the concert this program is for, he was in London, recording songs at Olympic Studios the day of the concert, having performed at the Woburn Music Festival at Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire, England the previous day. Program shows obvious wear, w/moderate, all over moisture damage, which is most noticeable to interior, which was once stuck together and has been pulled apart, removing some ink and leaving scattered surface paper adhesion. Scattered aging w/front cover having some scattered brown age spots along right margin and interior having some scattered aging. Back cover has 1.5" strip of tape at upper left corner. Slight fade to rainbow design Hendrix signed on, but this does not affect inscription/signature. Program is VG overall, but inscription/signature (which have slight smudge but remain totally legible) remains totally distinct and still displays nicely. A possibly unique Hendrix signed item. Comes with Hake's COA and Roger Epperson/REAL LOA.
