Item Description
Obscure 14x18-7/8" original printing poster for Christmas, 1967 "Christmas Vibrations" church service and celebration that took place at Glide Memorial Church, a church in San Francisco, CA. affiliated w/the United Methodist Church. Conservative until the 1960s, since then it has served as a counter-culture rallying point and has been one of the most prominently liberal churches in the US. Poster features great psychedelic design reminiscent of the Star of Bethlehem by Stanley Mouse. Poster lists Reverend A. Cecil Williams and notes morning service to be followed by "Dancing, Singing, Feasting In The Street In Front Of Glide Church" that evening w/"Jazz Group, Afro-Cuban, Israeli, Folk Jazz." Faint crease along upper left w/some thin streaks of moisture staining. Poster is o/w Exc.
