Item Description
6.75x8-3/8" composition book w/unused lined paper. ©1930 Walter E. Disney. Tablets from this series are the first domestic and most likely first worldwide pieces of licensed Mickey Mouse merchandise produced. The deal to produce these tablets was finalized in 1929 w/a handshake and $300.00 cash payment to Walt in a New York hotel lobby. The name of the company was never recorded by Walt. Great cover art of Mickey angrily playing saxophone as metronome in bkg. ticks. Front cover shows moderate wear w/1.5" tear at center by spine and heavy creasing at bottom right (w/tape reinforcement on back). Cover is Good/VG. Scarce and historic Disney item.
