Item Description
23.75x31" ornate frame contains thin cardboard poster that has been professionally and attractively double-matted to 14x21.5". For 1911 stage play musical comedy based on Bud Fisher's classic comic strip "Mutt And Jeff." Poster was printed by The U.S. Lithograph Co./Russell-Morgan Print as noted at lower right along w/1911 copyright. Poster depicts Jeff standing at left in a cocky manner as four young women flock to him, much to Mutt's confusion. Caption at bottom reads "You'll Have To Excuse Me Girls, I've Got A Date To Play Pinochle With The President." Pinholes at left corners, unsure about right as matted. Lower left corner has a 4" long lt. surface scratch and white margins have moderate dust soiling. Woman in blue dress has 1x3.5" piece of paper adhered to her dress, likely from a theater billing paste-over. VG overall. As framed, looks great for display. Rare.
