Item Description
Lot of three pulp magazines published by Standard. Lot includes - Vol. 29, Nos. 1-3, published Nov. 1939 to Jan. 1940. First issue's cover features villains in fire-proof suits abducting bound woman while last issue's front cover features classic art by Zirn depicting a waiter serving a decapitated head on a platter to dinner party. This is one of the most popular issues of this title due to this horrific cover. Each has ink stamp dates on cover and/or some interior pages. First issue has moderate cover dust soiling. Interior margins of covers have some age spotting but cover overlap shows little of the typical wear and tear. VG/Fine. Second issues cover remains bright and clean, w/little cover overlap wear, w/upper right corner chip. Fine. Last issue has moderate surface paper lifts along upper right margin/corner, w/some edge chipping. A few of the first interior pages have upper corners stuck together. VG. All feature lightly aged but very clean and supple pages.
