Promotional kit issued to newspapers by New York Times Syndicate Corp. 11x15" illustrated cardstock folder notes "September 13, 1981 Is The Launch Date For Special Features' Magnificent New Cartoon Strip About The Legendary Masked Man Of The West," announcing a new Lone Ranger comic strip. An attempt at reviving Lone Ranger's popularity was attempted w/the launch of the 1981 film "The Legend Of The Lone Ranger," which helped pave the way for this comic strip, which ran from 1981 until 1984. The promo features art by Cary Bates and Russ Heath (see original daily strip art, next item #1604) and interior features photos/biographies of the artists. Folder has some handling wear w/pinch creases to spine. Fine/VF. Folder contains four 10x14" color Sunday page stats and four 10.5x14-7/8" bw daily page stats, three strips to a page. Strips represent the first four weeks of publication. Three 1" creases to three daily pages w/scattered aging. VF. Comes w/letter of introduction on "Special Features" letterhead. Exc.
