Item Description
6.75x9.5x8.5" tall plush battery-operated animal w/blinking glass eyes. Produced by the National Stuffed Animals Co., Inc. for sale at the 1939 New York World's Fair, "Winky" has ears shaped like the iconic Trylon and Perisphere buildings at the Fair and features screw-off tail that reveals clean battery compartment. Modern batteries do not fit so we are unable to test. Original ribbon and both company and World's Fair string tags around neck, all are aged and string tags show moderate wear w/heavy creasing. VG. Plush has obvious aging w/lt. fading to blue and orange Fair colors. VG/Fine. One of the most unusual 1939 NYWF items we've seen. First we've seen in our 48 years.
