Item Description
1.75x2.75x0.5" deep cardboard box designed as a book featuring portrait of Taylor under glass. These boxes were made around the time of Taylor's death in 1850. Often seen with a reverse panel reading "Forget Me Not" (this one is blank) it's unclear if they were made as memorials for their subjects or for deceased loved ones. Cover and interior mirror are detached. Also minor wear to the gold foil edges that hold the box together. These boxes typically have many condition issues and relatively speaking this one is a nice example. Image of Taylor is striking and NM. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
