Period 8-3/8x10-1/8" wooden frame contains glossy publicity photo of legendary aviator Frank M. Hawks' "Texaco 'Sky-Chief,' All Metal Northrop Plane" in flight high above city w/promotional text at bottom. 1930s. Side of plane clearly has "Texaco Sky Chief" name as Hawks piloted several Texaco-sponsored aircraft throughout his career. Photo has some lt. rippling and some minor emulsion cracks at top. VF. Comes w/actual 4-7/8x2" tall milled aluminum piston head. Exterior has stamped text reading "First Commercial Fourteen Cylinder Built For Capt Frank Hawks" as well as "Comstock" name and various serial numbers. Scattered wear from use and scattered aging. Fine overall. Interesting piece of aviation history.
