Item Description
25" tall to the top of his hat. c. 1950. Doll is unmarked but is shown in vintage catalogs as by Ideal. Also produced in smaller, 20" tall size. Boots and head w/painted features are vinyl while body is stuffed fabric, hands are "Liveskin," a soft rubber material. Jacket is cotton rayon, lower body is covered in heavy corduroy pants and ending at tops of the tall rubber boots. Doll has correct felt hat, scarf w/steerhead slide, vinyl belt/holster, white metal "Hopalong Cassidy" pin on belt and thin metal sheriff badge w/"Hopalong Cassidy" name and high relief Hoppy portrait. Hat is missing a yellow cardboard band that had his name in black. White painted hair shows wear, missing about 20% and is a bit tacky w/age (a common issue w/this doll). One hand has hardened somewhat and thumb is turned down w/some cracks, though this has stabilized. Corduroy pants and fabric shirt have moderate scattered fading (more noticeable on shirt). Fine overall. Rare in this larger size.
