Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 4.25" tall bank designed like a book w/embossed oilcloth fabric over brass. Zell Products Co. 1930s. Box is boy's blue color variety (also produced in pink for girls) and features same art/text as on front of bank w/images of The Three Pigs. Three side panels have different portrait images of the Pigs, w/"I Save Pennies, I Save Nickels, I Save Dimes" text. Box has some lt. age fading and corner tip/edge wear but remains tight and Fine/VF. Banks were also produced in color varieties, this is cream color variety. Missing key. Bank is Exc. Rare as boxed, this is the just the second boxed example of this bank we've offered in our 48 years (and the first blue box example). From the Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
