Auction #214 - Part II
Item numbers 1008 through 2793 in auction 214
Item Description
Thin 7/8x4-3/8" enameled metal sleeve w/silver luster contains 4-5/8" wide generic plastic comb. Cohn & Rosenberger Inc. 1930s. While we have seen bracelets and matchbox holders in this style, this is only our second comb case, and the first featuring The Three Pigs. Same images appear on each side, depicting The Three Pigs dancing around as The Big Bad Wolf lies dead in a large pot on the fire. Text above pigs reads "Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf." Scattered aging and wear w/notable loss to blue enamel of Practical Pig's overalls, most missing. Fine overall. Rare and first we've offered of this Three Pigs item. From the Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
