Original cardboard box w/die-cut cardboard insert contains two place settings set consisting of a total of seven pieces (two w/lids). Made in Japan, 1930s. Side of box lid has partial label listing tea set name as well as Disney copyright and partial Geo. Borgfeldt name. Box contains pair of 3.25" dia. "Three Little Pigs" saucers (one featuring Fiddler Pig, one featuring Fifer Pig) and two matching 1-1/8" handled cups. In addition, set contains 1.25" tall open pitcher, 1-7/8" tall (w/lid) sugar bowl and 2.5" tall (w/lid) tea pot w/image of Little Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf dressed as Grandmother. Both Sugar bowl and pitcher feature same image of Fifer Pig, though this differs from image on saucer. All have nice pearlized finish. Scattered lt. trace of wear but Exc. overall. Box shows heavy and obvious wear w/numerous tape repairs and just comes along. A number of different Three Little Pigs tea sets were produced, but this is the only set we recall that also features Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf. Scarce set.
