Item Description
Lot of three items issued for the opening day of the 1939 New York World's Fair, which was officially opened by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 30, 1939. Lot includes 2-3/8x4" opening day ticket w/Trylon and Perisphere image. Ticket has .75x1" area at top center w/paper clip rusting and scattered vertical creases. VG/Fine. 9.25x12-1/8" opening day program has program listings of opening day ceremonies, including FDR's speech. Scattered wear to slightly over-sized cover w/corner creasing. Fine/VF. Last item is April 30, 1939 "New York Herald Tribune" newspaper supplement titled "Gateway To New York World's Fair" and features articles, photos and numerous ads pertaining to the Fair, exhibitors, hotels, etc. Pinch creases to spine w/some corner tip wear. Fine/VF.
