Item Description
3x5.5" mailing envelope w/"Doc Savage Club" logo (which matches included lapel stud and premium ink stamp, item #1377) and return address. Envelope has handwritten recipient address in ink and shows moderate aging. Envelope has New York postmarks as well as Australian postal stamp. Fine. This envelope is very rare and is the only the second example we've offered in our 48 years. Envelope contains 2-7/8x5.25" stiff card that held .75" dark bronze luster boys lapel stud w/threaded post and screw cap on the reverse. Stud shows some lt. wear to bronze luster, but much remains. Exc. Issued by Street & Smith, publishers of "Doc Savage" pulp magazine in the 1930s. Card has small Doc Savage image w/die-cut hole as made to hold lapel stud. Card also features text promoting "Doc Savage" pulp. Scattered lt. wear/dust soiling w/some surface flaking at one corner. Fine. This card is rare, this is about the fourth example we've offered in our 48 years.
