This and the following five items (#2548-2552) are prototypes. Six designs were made (plus an error/name variant), but this series never saw production. 6.25" tall, glass features full body image of "Mark" from the American adaptation of the 1972 Japanese anime series "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman." Of the 105 original Gatchaman episodes, 85 were used in the "Battle Of The Planets" adaptation, which was produced by Sandy Frank Entertainment and aired 1978-1985. "Battle Of The Planets" logo is opposite Mark image and has "Pepsi Collector Series" logo and 1979 copyright. Underside of glass has circular Brockway Glass Co. sticker marked w/handwritten number codes "542" and "N-78-357." Glass retains high gloss and is NM. Prototype character glasses remain highly sought after and these "Battle Of The Planets" glasses are particularly desirable and rare.
