Item numbers 1 through 1007 in auction 214
Item Description
This exceptional ribbon badge is 8.5” tall. Celluloid hanger at the top shows speeding steam engine. Bar holds fabric ribbon with gold metallic tassels. The entire text is a single sheet of brass with wreath design at center and reading in full “New York City/Division/105/Brotherhood/Of/Locomotive/Engineers.” We’ve never seen a badge made in this fashion and it is in gorgeous NM condition. It comes with an original cardboard box which has numerous splits on the side edges. Box top has small blue paper label with partial text still remaining and including the words “Made By/J.M. Bopp/Gold And Silver Medals” with an apparent NYC street address. The box simply comes along with the item due to its extensive damage but the badge itself is superb. Also see toy train badges in our entertainment section and 1901 expo. Wabash item #722.
