Book adapts Hans Christian Andersen's story "The Tinderbox," about a soldier who acquires a magic tinderbox capable of summoning three powerful dogs to do his bidding. When the soldier has one of the dogs transport a sleeping princess to his room, he is sentenced to death but cunningly summons the dogs to save his life. Front cover has die-cut area w/pull tab that allows the three St. Bernard dogs' eyes to move back and forth. Total of eight pop-ups within, some w/pull tabs for various pop-up features. Cover has moderate corner tip wear w/.5" area of denting to front cover edge. Fine/VF overall w/Exc. to NM interior.
