Item Description
The Blue–Gray Football Classic was an annual American college football all-star game held in Alabama, the first was held 1939. The format pitted players who attended college in the states of the former Confederacy, the "Grays" against players who attended school in the northern half of the country, the "Blues." This 7.75x10.5" program is for the fourth Blue–Gray Football Classic, held Dec. 27, 1941 in Montgomery, AL. The outcome of this game resulted in the "Grays" winning, 16-0. Program has been signed by a total of 24 players, and this includes College HOF members Vince Banonis, Jackie Hunt and Coach Carl Snavely. Signatures also include a number of players who went on to play in the NFL. These include - Frank Maznicki, George Zorich and Al Demao. Program cover shows large area of heavy moisture staining at top center, which affects the tops of about half the pages in the program, which shows scattered handling wear/dust soiling. VG overall. A unique collection of football autographs, including some obscure examples. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
