Item Description
7/8” button is British made for 1917 movie serial. Title on the button is “Boy Scouts Be Prepared” with additional text “Trans-Atlantic’s Great British Serial.” Minor oxidation on the back and front has noticeable tan marks on the perimeter. In the USA the serial was known as Scouts To the Rescue. In the serial Baden-Powell portrayed himself. The story line was the collaboration of a squire’s son and a miner’s son joining the scouts and foiling a gypsy spy supplying petrol to German U-Boats. Button still has nice gloss. Only example we’ve seen.
